Connections between world war 1 and today are really clear. during the first world war america was going through a very tough time. depression was settling in the country and many people were having a tought time lving. To day in america, due to debts and other such things we are in a recession. That is what happens right befor a depression, and then we will be in the same state as we were back during the first war. when world war started many americans were all for the war. they supported it and gladly helped out by turning america into a war economy. the same thing happened recently in america with the war in the middle east. at first us americans were sympathetic towards the war. we believed that it was right and that we were the ones who were doing the right thing. but now we disagree and we wish to end the war and pull our troops back and bring them home.
The connections i see about WWI and todays is era is that the the man are still hiding the emotions and not showing what they really feel and i think that man should grow up and say what they really think haha!
some of the connections i see are mainly the ones where people just want to run from problems and conflict, while others look for conflict for their own selfish gain or to protect something. the ways of escaping problems havent changed much, drugs, alcohol, sex, and others have been around and people still use these things to delay what is going to happen, but when doing so they create more problems and suffering than before. also the general sickness of war is always present because war makes the majority of people tired and sick of fighting. after a while of peace the new generation of the world that does not understand the nature of war cannot stop themselves from starting wars for whatever reasons they may have. then they find out for themselves the atrocities that war brings, disease, injuries, mental unstability, and other things. this still happens today in the underdeveloped countries and even in places like the US, because it is human nature
The connections i see between this WWI era and today is that still people are trying to escaspe there probems in the wrong way. People still dont address the problems directly they try to avoid whats really bothering them inside causing them to have more issues then they started with. There is parallels that relate WWI era and today.
The World War I era and today are similar. At first we were all for WWI but then we were starting to go against it. Today the same thing is going on in the Middle East because now we have changed our minds and want the war to end. Along with this times of war are miserable. During both WWI and the war in the Middle East innocent civilians are being killed which is upseting people who hear or even witness it.
The connection I see between WW1 and todays era are that the people are going through both rough economic time and harder ways to survive. During WW1 the people have to start day light savings supply most of there own food because the soldiers at war need too stay healthy and strong and by us doing things differently at home we can help them stay healthy and strong. Also its hard for people to find jobs that pay good money and even get enough money to survive easly. Just like today we are going through hard times with the economy and money because the prices of everything is rising and jobs are very hard to find and if you do find a job the pay isn't really that great because people aren't able to supply alot of money because of the economy issue.
The connection I see between WW1 is that well the timing is differnet but in some ways it is the same.over in iraq we are fighting long days and some are people r dieing.back them was harder because the technology the surroundings and the way they thought now we are so much more intelligent
The connection i see is that people dont want to leave who they love when they go into the war. The more catherine and frederic fall in love it makes it harder for them to leave each other. This happens when going into a war regardless of what year or time period.
I see alot of the same hardships that people were going through then today. We are about to enter a depression and may have to give up alot just like those who lived during that time era. there are the same scares going around as well. People were worried about communists and raids were conducted to capture them. Right now our country is afraid of terrorists, and we are constsantly searching for them.
War always has a connection because still to this day many people die during long wars. Still countries use milatary force for any reason they choose without any care of who dies and who doesnt

Many people are concerning swine flu, so just like during world war one, we are having scares with disease and sickness. The war was obviously a more extreme time but still today we are facing many hardships.
